November was the month that the USA stumbled into a new political reality. Or a revived one, anyway. I was pleased to stop thinking about, and writing about, the election season. But the result was a little shocking, too.
So much so I couldn’t write at first, or at least, didn’t see the point. So I recorded a post-election voice memo titled No Words (6:28) instead.
I took a week off after that, spent some time with my wife and no kids. Then wrote about avoiding the news, focussing on other things for a while. News Fasting, I called it (13:03).
Lastly, right before Thanksgiving, I dug up a fun old story about my first experience of the holiday, at a Shoney’s All You Can Eat in Memphis, TN, with my older brothers, at the ripe old age of 18. It got me thinking about turkey dinners and what they mean (17:02).
Thanks for reading, listening and following along. Till next month!
