As you probably knew, long before me, the abbreviation TBH has become a quick way of saying “to be honest” in texts and other hurried forms of modern communication. It also happens to be my initials.

Which is fitting. I’m an honest person. In life, sometimes to a fault.

I try to be as honest as possible in my writing, too. The writing and art here is personal that way… encompassing family, friends, travel, parenthood, work and relationships. Real life stuff. Funny-Sad, my wife has described it as, and I haven’t thought of better.

Before focussing on writing full-time, I spent the decade after graduating university recording and performing my own music - mostly under the band name Horse Stories. From Melbourne, to Los Angeles, old London and beyond. When the road had finally conquered me, I spent a decade running two retail stores in my Los Angeles neighborhood.

Throughout it all I’ve always written. These days I like to draw sometimes, too. You can find out more about me at my site.

TBH is my personal creation, just for you. I do all the writing, drawings, music and other work that appears in the newsletter. But mostly it’s my words on offer.
